 What are eduBoards

eduBoards - Communications on the Web

eduBoards is an interactive Web-based program designed to improve communications between families, students, and teachers.

Teachers use a simple interface to quickly and easily create a series of tabs. Tabs appear across the top of each eduBoard. Each Tab contains a link to a different page in the TPSBoard. Each Tab contains one or more Notices. A Notice has the appearance of a Post-It pinned to a bulletin board. Notices may contain the entire message for the visitor or may contain one of the following types of links:

  • Graphics / Illustrations / Pictures page
  • An Audio File designed to be played through your computer [requires a sound card and speakers]
  • A Memo - designed to display documents too large to conveniently fit onto a Notice
  • Some teachers offer the opportunity for their students to turn in homework assignments by uploading them to their classes' eduBoard. [Homework uploaded to the eduBoard is viewable only by the teachers. Other families and students do not have access to these files]

Notices that contain links to additional content contain a description of the additional content on the Notice and a Link, near the bottom of the Notice. Click the Link to view [or hear] the additional content. The page containing the additional content will contain a link allowing you to return to the eduBoard, [Note: if the additional content link allowed you to listen to an audio file, you will generally have to close your audio player or click the back button on your browser to return to the board].

eduBoards Alerts

The Community Relations Department of your School District and the office staff of the school for each board are able to quickly and easily place alerts into the eduBoards system. A District Wide Alert is immediately displayed in a prominent box near the top of the right-hand column of every eduBoard in the district. School Alerts are displayed on every eduBoard for that school. Teachers are also able to place alerts that are displayed only on their board. It is a good idea to make a habit of visiting each of your student’s eduBoards frequently and check for any new alerts.

Customizing eduBoards for your Family

eduBoards are designed to allow you to customize them so that you may quickly switch between the boards for each of your students, if your family has more than one student in your School System, or to switch between the various classes for your middle and high school students. Families with only one student in one class should also customize their eduBoards, so that each time you access eduBoards you are immediately taken to the eduBoards that are applicable to your students.

Navigation is a Snap!

Once you have customized your eduBoards, the yellow frame at the bottom of your screen will contain links to the eduBoards for each of your students’ classes. This allows you to surf to eduBoards, the progressively click on the links to each board, keeping up-to-date with what is going on in all of your students classes. No complicated navigation is required!
